FWAH: Episode 7 Page 6

*Theme Music*

The view comes in to focus to the familiar view of the front door signifying the end of events and the anticipation of the exiting contestant. Footsteps can be heard approaching the door. They falter. Muffled yelling can be heard as well as perhaps someone crying.

The front door is thrown open. A rather upset Brandon can be seen. He pauses remembering the cameras and walks off the lot to the waiting car.

As he approaches the camera, he gives no indication of his mood, the only give away is his fists, clenching and unclenching.

Lynn’s soft voice can be heard off screen, “Hello Brandon.”
Brandon huffs. Lynn tries again, “I take it you don’t agree with the final results?”
Brandon scoffs. Lynn takes a deep breath, “Well I’m sorry you feel this way. Suzi is a grown woman. She has made her choice.”

Brandon laughs, “She had it made for her. Gilbert manipulated her. He cheated! That’s got to be it. Why else would he be there and I am here?”
“Cheated? How could he have managed to cheat?”
“Oh come on! Think about it. Lets see… he poisoned her mind for one. Told her lies about me and the other guys I’m sure. He probably even told her about my stash he tossed!”
Lynn’s voice grows quiet, “I wish you hadn’t said that. Gilbert refrained from implicating you in anything. Neither to us nor to Suzi…”
Brandon looks at her dumbfounded as he’s escorted off screen by a policeman who is calmly reading him his rights.

The audience find themselves back in the farmhouse for the last time. A tearful Suzi is held in Gilbert’s strong embrace, their words muffled and soft, a word here and there can be understood though her soft sobs. “I know. I know. I’m sorry. I should have told you sooner.”
Suzi nods quietly, “I didn’t realize it was that bad. I mean, I figured it out, but wow.”
Gilbert scoops her up, cradling her in his arms as he carries her to the couch. sitting her in his lap.

“The night I stayed here. The night you all went to the club. I found his stash. I threw it out. I thought it was just the alcohol but Danny knew. He knew it was more. One of us had to go with you and watch over you. He volunteered to stay and search, but I didn’t want him jeopardizing his position for a hunch.” He wipes her tears from her eyes, “I had to make sure you were safe. Even if it meant you chose him over me. I had to make sure.”
“You do love me.”
Gilbert grins big and kisses her passionately, “You bet your life I do.”

The screen fades, the theme music plays and the credits begin rolling:

They arrive back on the farm. Gilbert meets them outside, he pulls Suzi in to his arms and he holds her. Brandon grumbles something incoherent and walks in the house. Gilbert grins, “I should have known… I should have had more confidence. I’m sorry I doubted.”
Suzi looks at him utterly confused, yet not moving from his embrace. “I don’t understand.”
Gilbert chuckles, “Of course not… its not important. I’m glad you’re home safely.”
She looks at him questioningly, searching his eyes, she smiles softly, “Have more faith in me. I’m smarter than you think.”

“Then you must be brilliant.” Gilbert kisses her softly with a small peck on her lips. Reluctantly he releases his embrace, “Did you have a good time?”
Suzi fidgets and grins, “Yes but…”
Gilbert looks amused and holds up his hand, “I am never going to ask for details. Just glad you’re back.” He takes her by the hand and they walk in to the house together.

We meet up with the guys sitting alone in the living room. Suzi is off some where unseen as the guys talk. Gilbert shakes his head, “Nah basketball of the 80’s was much better. They had finesse. They had class. They had skills and most importantly, they had teamwork.”
Brandon shakes his head in disagreement, “No way, were they better. The players today could clean the floor with them! They’re bigger, their stronger, their more talented.”
“Think about this, why were the Spurs a team to be reckoned with? Teamwork. The twin towers were a power to behold. They played together. None of this showboating you have now with that joke from the Lakers, Kobe.”
Both guys go quiet as they hear Suzi emerge from her bedroom.

The guys get up immediately, Suzi hesitates before speaking, takes a deep breath as the audience holds theirs. “I’ve been thinking… a lot… and while I’m extremely fond of both of you, there can be only one winner.” She looks at Brandon and smiles, “Brandon, you’re a strong man. Clever. Handsome and great with your hands.” Suzi suddenly feels the flush of a blush rushing to her cheeks and she grins trying desperately to continue.

She turns to Gilbert and smiles taking another deep breath, “Gilbert, you too are strong. Your sense of humor and sense of what is right. It takes my breath away. Who knew a renaissance man still existed in this day and age?”

“While I admire you both in different ways, I find myself falling in love with one of you.” She pauses and looks at both of them. “I also feel as if one of you can possibly return my love. At least I hope I’m right.”

“I also feel as if one of you sees me more as a prize, I suppose in a way I am. I hope the winner will feel I am more than just a prize.” She smiles at them both once more. “I also want to thank you both for being here. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you both.” Moved to almost tears, she bites her lip, her voice cracks with emotions, “Brandon… Gilbert… I have made my choice.”

For the last time the camera focuses on the front door waiting for the final departing contestant. The theme music is heard and the screen fades to commercial.

The camera focuses on Gilbert as he stands easily before the camera. Lynn’s voice can be heard off camera, “Lovely of you to come visit us at such short notice, Gilbert.”
Gilbert chuckles, “You say that as if I had a choice.”
“Everyone has choices. Some are simply not as wise as others.”
“Well said. So what can I do for you this fine evening?”
“Your little date brought on some fast responses, mostly via email a few by text…”
“Text? I didn’t realize you had that kind of service for the show.”
Lynn laughs, “We don’t! The texts would be from friends of mine demanding answers. Not that I gave any and I do hope they’re still my friends once this is over…” They laugh together, “That said. They all want to know one thing.”
Gilbert’s eyebrow shoots up questioningly, “Oh?”

“Yes, that too… but in the spirit of television and my deep rooted desire to remain employed that question can remain unanswered… for the moment. No the viewers want to know what it is you and Danny were in cahoots over.”
Gilbert looks amused and relieved as the question is revealed, “I take it Danny didn’t tell you. Or perhaps Danny did tell you and you’re simply asking me to collaborate on his version. Either way, I won’t be able to tell you. At least not now…”
A soft sigh can be heard off screen, one can only assume it is Lynn, “Gilbert, it’s the eliminations. When can we expect an answer?”
“Win or lose, I’ll tell you after I’ve had the chance to talk to Suzi about it.”

There is a brief moment of quiet before Lynn responds, “Agreed. Now about the other question….”
Gilbert throws his head back with a roar of laughter, “A gentleman does not kiss and tell.”
“Are you claiming to be a gentleman?”
“Now I never said that…”

The audience find themselves back at the diner. The jukebox is playing an old love song. Brandon is seen leading Suzi to the dance floor, he twirls her once in to his arms and pulls her close. Suzi glides across the floor into his arms effortlessly, her fingertips slide up his strong arms allowing herself to be moved around the dance floor. The audience catches glimpses of other diners as some smile at the couple and others simply ignore them. They are the only ones on the dance floor.

Brandon slows their dance as the song comes to an end, he kisses her forehead before he releases her. “Thank you for tonight.”
Suzi’s eyes flutter, she takes a breath, “I had a good time. I’m glad you’re such a good sport and don’t mind losing to a girl.”
Brandon chuckles and kisses her lips, holding her hand he leads her towards the door.

Brandon expertly ushers her in to the front seat, walks around the truck and puts the keys in the ignition. “Brandon?”
“Yes?”
“I thought you said I was driving home?”
Brandon takes his hand from the ignition and place them both on the steering wheel. His hands gripping and releasing the wheel as he sits in quiet contemplation. “You’re serious?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”

Brandon grips the wheel once more, closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “Suzi…” His eyes fly open as he hears the tinkling of the keys. Suzi managed in the short time he had his eyes close to reach over and pull them out of the ignition.
Suzi sits with a determined look on her face, keys in hand, “I gave you the benefit of the doubt. While I realize you hadn’t technically said you would let me drive, you only asked ‘if’ but I wanted to believe it was an oversight by you and not you trying to appease me.”
Brandon smirks and chuckles, “You’re smart and beautiful. Fair enough. You can drive, if you can get me out of this seat.” He waggles his eyebrows playfully.

Relieved Suzi smiles at him, “That’s easy. Kiss me.”
Brandon looks at her and moves in for his kiss, feeling he has her pinned against the seat and no way to remove him from his current seat, he pulls her closer to the middle of the seat and stops, his lips inches from hers, “now what was it you wanted from me?”

Wordlessly she pulls him closer, kissing him softly at first, teasingly, he growls as his hunger for her grows. She grabs his hand that was on her leg for leverage, pushing him back in his seat, she swings her leg around and straddles him.
Brandon grabs her ass firmly in his hands pulling her closer, letting her feel the affect she has on him, she moans deeply and kisses him. Pinned between him and the steering wheel she moves her hips against him whimpering. Her lips move towards his ear as she whispers to him, his eyes close and he moans. He slides towards the other side, bringing her along with him. Their hunger heating up the car, the windows begin fogging up due to their heavy panting.

What can only be Suzi’s voice can be heard through the steamy car window, “Oh. Oh! Mmmm… oh Brandon.”
The truck rocks faster as more sounds of passion are heard, the screen fades to commercial.

FWAH: Episode 7 Page 3

*Theme Music*

The camera comes back to focus on the couple as they are addressed by a host. She smiles a confident practiced smile that doesn’t quite make it to her eyes, “Yes, there is a table towards the back. A private table as requested by the gentleman.” She grabs two menus and leads the way for them. She places the two menus on the table settings in very practiced moves, flashes them a smile once more before leaving them to their meal. “Your waitress, Veronica will be over shortly.”

Seated at their table Suzi peruses the menu for something to catch her eye. Slightly disappointed with the menu choices she keeps her voice light, “So what are you going to order?”
Brandon hasn’t glanced at his menu, “A cheeseburger. I mean, it’s a diner. You can’t expect a place like this to have a good steak, right?”
Without looking up, she nods and continues to search for something… anything… she finally gives up and looks at the desserts. “Hmm, they have a nectarine tart here. I wonder if its any good.”
Brandon glances at her, “Order it, if it’s not good, you can send it back for something that is.”

Brandon takes a drink from his glass, savoring the relief as it coats his parched throat. Still looking at her menu, she bites her lip. “I don’t remember anyone bringing us water. I suppose they forgot mine. Mind if I have sip of yours?”
Brandon’s glass never leaves his lips until the liquid is drained. The ice tinkles merrily to the bottom of the glass as he sets it down, “I’ll get one for you.”
He waves down a passing wait staff and hollers out to him, “Two glasses of water.”
The busboy nods and scurries off to fetch the water.

Suzi lowers her menu, folds her hands on the table and speaks quietly, “I think I’ll have the nectarine tart.”
Brandon grins, “Good for you. Stick with what you know.”
Just then Veronica approaches, “Hi, I’m Veronica. I’ll be your server tonight. Can I start you off with some drinks and maybe an appetizer?”
Brandon smiles and nods enthusiastically, “A drink sounds good. Gin and tonic for me. Suzi, what do you want?”
Suzi looks at him a bit concerned, “Nothing from the bar thanks. I just had a beer, I think one of us needs to keep a clear head.”
Brandon laughs, “Don’t fret. My head is plenty clear.” He looks up at Veronica, “Two gin and tonics. I’ll take an omelet, cheese, ham, bacon, mushrooms, peppers, red if you have them and hold the onions. I hate onions. She will have the nectarine tart, warm with a side of vanilla ice cream.”
Suzi wrinkles her nose at Brandon, “I’m lactose intolerant.” She shakes her head at Veronica, “Skip the ice cream.”

Veronica smiles at them both, the kind of smile that goes all the way to her eyes and lights them up. Once she is through repeating the order to them she moves away to give them privacy. Brandon looks a bit dumbfounded at Suzi, “What?”
He shakes his head, “Sorry. I didn’t know.”
Suzi shrugs, “How would you? Unless you took note of the soy products in the fridge…”
Brandon’s eyebrows knit as he concentrates. “Huh. Is that why it tasted funny? Here I thought it was just ‘fresh’ from the dairy or something.”

Suzi laughs softly, reaches out and pats his hand, “Don’t worry. I don’t expect you to know everything about me.”
Brandon gives her an odd look as if he wants to say something, changes his mind and his face clears once more. He takes her hand in his and gives it a squeeze.
At this time the busboy returns with water and tries to pour it in their glasses. He looks at the table noting one glass and quickly returns with a second filling both with water and ice from the pitcher.

Brandon stares at his glass quietly, “Suzi, have you thought much about the future? I mean, past tomorrow, past next month. What you think you’ll be doing this time next year? Maybe two?”
Veronica returns with the drinks and places them on square napkins, flashes them both a quick grin and walks away. Without a word, Brandon takes his drink and drinks it down. Sets the empty glass on the table next to her water and grabs the second drink.
Suzi sits stunned silent, once her racing mind slows a bit, “I take it the second one wasn’t for me after all. Nice to know you listened, I suppose.” She cocks her head and presses on, “How many have you had Brandon? Maybe I should drive home.”

Brandon lowers his glass slowly. He closes his eyes briefly before responding, “I am fully capable of driving us back. I’m not drunk.”
Suzi’s concern rises, “When is the last time you ate?”
Brandon shrugs noncommittally, “Breakfast. I’m fine.”
Suzi’s expression changes drastically, its as if alarm bells are going off. “Brandon. You are ‘not’ fine. Your judgment is impaired. I’m sure you know what the ramifications are if you were to be pulled over.”

Brandon sets his glass down as their food arrives. The tension at the table builds. The pair sit quietly eyeing their food, occasionally taking a small token bite. Suzi feels as if she has been pulled in to an inescapable pool of quicksand. “If I let you drive, will that make you happy?”
Suzi sighs in relief, “Yes.”
Brandon simply nods and takes another bite of his omelet.

Brandon notes Suzi’s more relaxed state and grins. “You’re really something, Suzi.”
Chuckling she notes his playful manner is back, “Of course, how else would I manage to keep the attention of the contestants?”
They laugh together, “I’m serious. I just thought you should know.”
Suzi blushes, “Thank you, Brandon.” Suzi suddenly stops and watches him carefully as he eyes her tart. She laughs once more taking Brandon by surprise, “Oh so this is why you’re buttering me up? You want my dessert!”
Brandon laughs easily, “Nah, if I wanted some I’d just take some!”
“Brave words…”

Brandon moves quickly, he goes for a bite of her nectarine tart, he moves his fork back with his prize teetering on his fork only to be denied the delicious morsel by a flick of Suzi’s fork. He groans as he watches the piece he anticipated savoring falls neatly back on her plate. “Oh you’ll have to move faster than that…”
Brandon gets a mischievous glint in his eyes, leans in to kiss her, his lips inches from hers, she can feel his breath on her lips. Her tongue runs across her parted lips in sweet anticipation of his kiss.
“Suzi…”
“Yes?”
He promptly plops a bite of her tart in to his mouth then kisses her quickly with a soft peck, his eyebrows wagging up and down and a smug grin of victory on his handsome face. She laughs pleased with his cleverness

“If you wanted a bite, you just had to ask.”
He looks at her with a smirk, “Now what fun is that?”
She scoops a small bite for him on her own fork, carefully balancing it she holds it out for him. Their eyes locked as she waits for him, he leans closer, his lips part in preparation to take the proffered bite, she moves the fork from him and kisses him softly before feeding him the dessert.
“You’re right, that bite was much tastier.”

Their food eaten, they remain seated enjoying each other’s company, she makes a mental note of which glass he grabbed. Quietly she sips her water.

The screen fades to a commercial break.

FWAH: Episode 7 Page 2

*Theme Music*

We find ourselves once more in the farmer’s bedroom. Suzi sits finishing her make up and giving herself one last glance to make sure she is just right. She grins at her reflection and fluffs her short hair giggling. Sighing softly, looking rather pleased with herself, “I should have done this years ago.”
She turns her head left than right admiring the new do. Her eye catches a glimpse at the clock on the table, noting the time she gasps, closes her lipstick in a hurry and rushes towards her bedroom door.

Suzi finds Brandon waiting for her by the door, she approaches him breathlessly, “I’m sorry! I lost track of time.”
Brandon simply grins at her, taking in her beauty as she tries to apologize again. “You’re not late. I was just early. I guess I’m pretty anxious to have some alone time with you at last.” He keeps grinning and touches her hair lightly, “It looks great. You look great.”
Suzi giggles at the compliment, “Really? You like it? I kinda like it too. I don’t know what possessed me to do it really, but I’ve been meaning to do ‘something’ with my hair and…” she takes a deep breath and they both laugh. “I was a bit nervous about my hair really. It’s such a change from what I’m used to.”

Brandon wraps his arms around her giving her a hug, holding her close, pressing his nose in to her hair and inhaling. “You’re gorgeous.”
Suzi melts in his arms, relieved and moved, “Thank you, Brandon. You look rather handsome yourself.”
He kisses her softly and steps back, his mischievous grin firmly in place. “I have a surprise for you.”

Suzi looks at him in anticipation, “I love surprises.”
“Well then, lets head out. I’m driving.”
Suzi blinks and glances at the door, “Driving? You’re… driving?”
Brandon chuckles and nods, pulling out the old truck keys from his pants pocket, he holds them up for her to see them. She looks from the keys to him and back again. “I don’t understand. It’s been broken for months… years…”
Brandon grins bigger, “Yes, well it’s fixed now. Shall we go?”
Suzi lets out a squeal and throws her arms around his neck, hugging him tight. “Thank you!”

Brandon pulls the truck up to the building and parks. Suzi opens the door slowly and stares wordlessly at the building. She looks at it nervously before looking towards Brandon. He makes his way around the back of the truck and to her side noting her hesitation. “Is this not okay? Would you rather go somewhere else?”

They stand staring at the building, both rather nervous now. “No, this is fine.” Suzi keeps staring up at the building.
Brandon sounds unconvinced, “Are you sure?”
Suzi takes his hand in hers and gives it a reassuring squeeze. “Yes, it’s fine… it’s more than fine, it’s great.”

Still unconvinced, Brandon turns to face her, keeping eye contact he tries once more, “We really can go somewhere else. I thought you’d like it.”
Suzi giggles, “Brandon, relax. I love bowling. I’m just… not your typical girl. I won’t ‘let’ you win. I’m very competitive.”
Brandon laughs relieved, “Is that all? No problem then. I’ve only bowled once and that was years ago. I just remembered it was a blast.”

After debating with the bowling attendant about the cleanliness of rented shoes, Brandon finally settled on a pair and put them on. Staring at them, he moves his feet this way and that looking at them with horror and disgust. “I don’t remember shoes being this ugly.”
Suzi laughed merrily and helped him pick out a ball before pointing him to an alley. Standing there he stares down the pins, ball in hand, feet in rented shoes, he approaches the line for his first frame.

Shuffling his feet towards the line, he can’t remember which foot he was supposed to end with and teeters at the line, throwing the ball a moment late and finding the momentum trying to pull him forward across the line.

Brandon manages to catch his balance and lost sight of his ball, he heard a noise that would indicate he hit something but thought it could also have been the lane next to him.

Holding the ball in her hands she looks down the lane, gracefully stepping forward taking her counted unrushed steps she glides and lunges towards the line, the ball swinging like a perfect pendulum leaves her outstretched hand rolling relentlessly towards the pins, knocking each and everyone down for a strike.
“Yes!” She exclaims triumphantly, “And that is how it is done, Ladies and Gentlemen!” Suzi does a small victory wiggle at the line and turns with a vibrant smile to join Brandon back at the seats.
The pair continue in much the same fashion for the next nine frames, Brandon thrilled to hit anything and Suzi relentlessly finishing with a clean game.

Brandon takes Suzi by the shoulders, shaking his head, “How in the world did you do that?”
Laughing Suzi beams in her victory, “I told you. I love to bowl and I warned you, I am very competitive.”
“Well thanks for schooling me. While I may be great with engines, I know nothing about bowling.” Brandon smoothly pulls her in to his embrace kissing her deeply leaving them both breathless.

“You may have won in bowling. I believe I’m the winner. I get to spend the evening with you.”
Suzi’s soft smile warms his heart, making him brave, or perhaps it was the four beers, he leans in for another kiss, his hands roaming and caressing her back, pressing his bodies to hers. Her voice raw with emotion as his name crosses her lips, “Brandon…”

The screen fades to a commercial break.
